Territorial Food Systems
Territorialised food systems are an emerging alternative to the harmful globalized corporate food system which contributes to environmental degradation, poverty, hunger and social injustice. Territorial food
systems aim at improving public health and food justice. In territorial
food systems multiple actors (private, public and civil society) partner
up to create shorter food value chains using agroecological methods to
meet the environmental and social needs for resilience. This approach
encourages the set-up of new farms and businesses along those value
chains as well as helping to create more value for producers. It demands
strong and efficient multi-stakeholder governance models.
